Since 1903, the members Iron Workers Local 70 have been building some of the most recognized buildings and structures in the area. The Lincoln, Lewis and Clark and Madison/Milton Bridges, The Yum Center, Omni Hotel, Cardinal Stadium, Kroeger Field, Churchill Downs Expansion and Mega Video Screen, Ford Kentucky Truck and Louisville Assembly Plants, Toyota Georgetown Assembly Plant, The Bat at the Slugger Museum, Slugger Field, Lynn Family Stadium, the list goes on and on. Being a Multi-Local Union has enabled us to become very proficient in all types of Ironwork. Our members install Structural Steel, Reinforcing Steel including Post Tensioning, Ornamental Ironwork such as Curtain Wall, Sheeting, Ornamental railing, stairs , catwalks, fencing, we rig and set Heavy Vessels, Storage Tanks and all types of Machinery and Conveyor Systems. We train and produce some of the best Structural Steel Welders in the industry.
Our Training Center is approved by the Kentucky and US DOL, also a Certified AWS Training and Testing Facility. Our Teachers are MSHA and OSHA Certified Outreach Providers.
